50,044 underprivileged families received monthly financial aid last December-Report

Amman, January 6 (Petra) – The Ministry of Social Development issued its achievements report for last December on Tuesday, highlighting its key services.
In a statement, the ministry reported it has received 7,991 applications for issuing health insurance cards and 149 others for exempting from paying medical expenses.
The ministry also addressed 130 cases related to settling inheritance rights and 2,056 applications for work permit exemptions.
According to the report, 35 children were admitted to residential care homes, while 39 others were discharged. Six new beneficiaries were sent to foster families, and five new nurseries were licensed.
The report also indicated that 197 women and children benefited from services of the Family and Juvenile Protection Department, while 268 juveniles benefited from the services of the ministry's juvenile rehabilitation and training centers, as 96 of them participated in professional rehabilitation programs.
Regarding working children who received psychological and social services and interventions according to the case management methodology, a total of 62 children benefited from those programs, while 792 others benefited from social service offices in correctional and rehabilitation centers.
The report indicated that the cumulative number of registered and existing associations under the current Associations Law reached 6,037. Twenty-seven new associations were registered, while the number of requests to amend the associations basic regulations reached 330.
A total of 15 associations was dissolved, as 5 temporary bodies completed their tasks. The number of existing temporary bodies was 11, as 14 dissolution committees completed their work, while 51 associations received warnings.
Regarding work of the Anti-Vagrancy Directorate, the report revealed the implementation of 524 crackdowns during which 671 beggars were apprehended.
According to the report's data on operations of the National Aid Fund (NAF), the total number of families, who benefited from the monthly financial aid program reached 50,044.
Meanwhile, 19,887 families received support through the Unified Cash Assistance Program, while 517 households received training. The response rate to calls received by the fund reached 100%.
